Terms & Conditions

BOOKINGS

1. Please complete and return booking form by email or post, along with a copy of named Hirer’s driving licence, both the paper copy and photo card (Additional Insurance costs may apply – see below). We will send
confirmation of Insurance cost within 3 days.

2. A reservation is only binding after it has been confirmed by Camper2hire and a 25% booking deposit has been paid.

3. Confirmation of the booking and invoice for hire charges will be sent by post to Hirer’s residential address. Payment of the remaining balance will be due
4 weeks prior to collection. Invoice will include charge for security deposit which is fully refunded 3 days after return of vehicle (to be paid at least 3 days prior to collection). Bookings made within 4 weeks of rental date must be paid in full at time of booking.

4. Two additional residential proof of identity required (Utility bill, credit card statement acceptable) upon confirmation of booking.

5. At time of collection, a cheque for £250.00 must be left with Camper2hire. This will not be banked, but held for security only for a period of 6 weeks in the event of unpaid parking charges, speeding fines etc. After 6 weeks, the cheque will be returned to the Hirer’s address.

Insurance

The hire price quoted includes self drive insurance. In some cases, our insurance company will impose additional charges if the driver has a traffic convition, or is an occupation which is deemed a high risk. These charges will be passed on to the customers.


Comprehensive insurance for travel within the UK, based on the following eligibility:

• Only the driver named in the booking form may drive the hired vehicle (additional drivers subject to additional cost /max 3 drivers per hire)

• All named drivers must be over 25 and under 70 years of age, of good health and have held a full valid driving licence for a minimum of 2 years (other drivers will be subject to surcharge, drivers under 21 or over 75 yrs will not be permitted to drive)

• The licence must be clear of any endorsements, if there are any current endorsements an extra charge will apply.

• Licence holders with serious convictions including drink driving offences will not be permitted to drive the hired vehicle.

• Non UK/EU licence holders maybe subject to an additional charge.

Original licences must be produced at the time of vehicle collection. In the case of UK photo card licences both the card and the counterpart paper licence must be
produced. Visitors from abroad must produce a valid unendorsed domestic driving licence or international driving permit.

Standard excess
The quoted hire rate includes a standard excess of £1000. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the first £1000. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windows or tyre damage.

The following are not convered by insurance - Loss, damages or expenses due to

theft of personal effects from the Vehicle

cigaratte or cigar burns (or equivalent) to the Vehicle

putting incorrect Fuel in the Vehicle

theft or damage due to negligence

violation of UK traffic laws

damage to the underside of the Vehicle

any deliberate or wilful act

driving on unpaved roads

fire caused by cooking, candles or any naked lames

You will be responsible for any costs incurred in connection with any loss or damaged caused by any of the above.

Security Deposit
There is a £1000.00 Security Deposit payable by cash or money transfers before collection of the vehicle. A full refund of the deposit will be made on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as it was let out to you, with the interior clean, including all cooking appliances, and the tank full of fuel. Where damage to the vehicle has been sustained the deposit will be retained until the full cost of the repair has been ascertained. This amount will then be deducted from the deposit and the balance refunded. Camper2hire reserves the right to increase the security deposit for specific events e.g. Football World Cup, music festivals etc. to £1250.00

European Travel
There is an additional charge for insurance outside of UK and the higher mileage incurred when travelling abroad.

Hire periods
The minimum hire period is three days except in the high seasons, when it is 7 days.

Liabilities
We accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other consequential loss claims arising from campervan breakdown, fair wear and tear excepted, accident or any other such related causes.

Incidents

In case of an Accident/Theft you must:

Inform the Police immediately and obtain an Incident or Crime Number. Obtain names, addresses, contact telephone numbers of all third parties involved in the Incident and the registration numbers of all third parties and immediately report the Incident by telephone to us. All accidents must be reported immediately by telephone to 07789 796339. An accident report form must be completed at the termination of hire. Upon receipt, immediately send us any letter from any third party, any written summons or any other documents relating to court proceedings. Provide all reasonable assistance to us or our agents and insurers in dealing with any subsequent proceedings including allowing Court actions to be taken in your name and defending any proceedings taken against us.

The hirer agrees to make good (and if necessary pay us for) any and all damage or loss sustained to the Camper, or any third party during the rental in the event that the hirer:

Fails to ensure that all Incidents are reported by telephone to Camper2Hire within 24 hours of the Incident occurring.

Use the vehicle for any purpose other than that for which it was legitmately supplied to the Hirer.

Use the vehicle to participate in any illegal activity

Fail to take reasonable care of the vehicle ( for example leaving unattended or leaving valuables in the vehicle).

The hirer shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred for speeding, parking fines, congestion charges and for any other offences committed against the Road Traffic Act or traffic regulations.

The hirer shall be responsible for all overhead damage resulting from any incident, overhead damage is defined from ground to in excess of 6 feet from the ground.

The hirer shall be responsible for all undercarriage damage resulting from any incident damaging grey waste tank or other vehicle parts.

You are required to check tyre pressures and engine fluid levels as specified in the driver's manual. The hirer is required to keep the campervan under their control throughout the hire period. It must be locked at all times when unattended.

Upon return the Company's representative will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, etc., including the condition of the tyres and windscreen which are not
included in the Company's insurance cover, any such damage is the hirer's responsibility.

Use of the Vehicle

The hirer agrees that during the rental period they will not allow the vehicle to be:

driven otherwise than in a cautions, prudent and normal manner

used in a manner which could cause damage

driven in a prohibited area or in an area other than the arears indicated by the Hirer to Camper2Hire

driven by a person under the influence of alchol or drugs or with a blood alchohol level in excess of that permitted by law

Left with ignition key in the vehicle while it is unoccupied

Lef unoccupied without the CD faceplate removed, steering wheel lock applied and all valuables out of site

Driven by persons;

Under the age of 25 years or

Who is not authorised by law to drive the Vehicle. Particulars of a proposed licenced drive of the Vehicle are set out under the Motor Rental Agreement.

Damaged by;

Submersion in water

Contact with Salt Water

used for any illegal purpose for any race, rally or contest

used to tow any vehicle or trailer

used to carry passengers or property for hire or reward

used to carry volatile liquids, gases, explosives or other corrosive or inflammable material

used or the carriage of chemicals or dangers goods

used for driving instruction

Alterations to the Vehicle

The hirer shall not make any alteration or additions to the Vehicle withour prior written consent of Camper2hire.

 

Payment
Availability is on a request and confirm basis at the time of reservation. A reservation is only binding after it has been confirmed by Camper2hire and a deposit of 25% has been received. Once the reservation is confirmed, an invoice will be issued by post for the remaining balance. Settlement of the remaining balance will be due one month prior to departure. Camper2hire reserves the right to cancel the booking if payment is not received one month prior to departure. Payment is by credit card (Visa or Mastercard), debit cards or cheque in Pounds Sterling.

For late bookings (less than one month before departure) the full rental price is payable on booking. Vehicles will not be released without full payment being cleared and a Security Deposit also cleared funds. Cheques will not be acceptable for late bookings (less than 2 weeks prior to departure).

Cancellation
Should the hirer cancel the booking Camper2hire will endeavour to re-hire the campervan. If successful the amount paid will be refunded less an administration charge of £100. However if re-hire is not successful the hirer will be liable for the deposit and any hire charges already paid. Any ‘No-show’ will forfeit 100% of hire costs.

We reserve the right to cancel the booking before commencement of hire if the named drivers’ licences are invalid or do not comply with the information stated on the booking form. We will offer a full refund if a vehicle reserve is not available due to accident, breakdown or other circumstances beyond our control. In this event the Hirer shall have no further claim of any kind against Camper2hire.

Hirers are advised to obtain their own holiday insurance to safeguard against such eventualities as those mentioned above.

Collection & Return
Collection: Please allow 1 hour for the hand-over at the depot - to complete the documentation and demonstrate your vehicle to you. Please allow the same on your
return.

Return: The vehicle must be returned on the date, and before the time stated, on the rental agreement. Vehicles must be returned clean and in the same condition as they leave the depot, otherwise a charge will be made. Toilet and grey waste tanks must be empty.

A full tank of diesel is supplied with the vehicle at the commencement of hire and the hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank of diesel. Any shortage will be charged to the hirer. One gas cylinder is supplied.

Late return: If you will be late returning, Camper2hire must be advised immediately. Failure to advise may result in prosecution for driving whilst uninsured. An additional charge of £50 per hour will be payable for all late returns.

NO REFUND IS GIVEN FOR EARLY RETURN OF VEHICLE

Animals
No animals, other than guide dogs, are allowed in the vehicle. Any damage incurred will be charged to the hirer in full.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in our motorhomes. Any infringement of this condition will incur a penalty of £250.00.
